New Poem: God's mercy is finite and narrow

God's mercy is finite and narrow
but oh so infinitely deep
Eternal life is given
but only to His sheep
the road they tread is hard to find
the gate they pass is small
the invitation surrounds the world
but so few obey the Call.

They that come all know their filth
their enmity and sin
their idolatry and lust and hate
are taken up by Him
who died in shame and loneliness
on an ancient cross of wood
restoring them to holiness
for none but God is good.
