The Father Of Light

I walk before the face
of the Father of light
my feet in the dust
and my heart made right -
I don't always feel it though,
my intentions merely good
and that which I want to do
o'erpowers what I should.
In shame and contrition
I remember He is there
always the witness
to the sins that I bear.
But just as I falter
and despair nearly wins,
He reminds me that He
has forgiven all my sins.
Oh the Father of light
in the peace of his face
is satisfied with his Son
and pours forth unearned grace
Oh the Father of light
whose gaze never ceases
looks upon my poor walk
and sees the steps of Jesus.

I wrote this book for our family breakfast discussions - it has over 200 talking points for our family. Then, because i like doing weird things like this - i bound it medieval style (in leather and wood with red page edges and a raised spine).
